Britton was arrested Thursday on a first-degree murdercharge. She was being held at the Broward County jailwithout bond. The shooter, Michael Wolfe, 61, whoeventually married Britton, was convicted Nov. 2 offirst-degree murder in Jackson's 1988 death.
Wolfe was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
The slaying apparently stemmed from a custody dispute between Jackson and Britton over their only son, said David Frankel, the prosecutor in Wolfe's trial.
Authorities said Wolfe and Britton disposed of the body after the murder.
Jackson was reported missing by relatives, but the case went cold for years until his skeleton was unearthed by a construction crew in 1989.
Authorities eventually linked Wolfe to the murder.

"This case is an important reminder that we take alook at all our cold cases and give them a fresh look," said Major David Golt of the Pembroke PinesPolice Department.
The name of Britton's attorney was not immediatelyknown.
