Twenty one men face child pornography possession charges in an undercover operation targeting Internet predators, the Polk County Sheriff's Office announced today.
Sheriff Grady Judd said that his agency's latest undercover operation found more than 100,000 different images or movies of child pornography.
The children in the images and movies range in age from as young as 1 month old to an average age of 7 to 9 years old.
The images include children having sex with children and adult males having sex with children. The detectives also found a tutorial that teaches people how to make child pornography.
16 people were arrested Wednesday night and this morning. Three people already are in jail on unrelated charges, and two of them are missing. The ages of the men arrested range from 17 years old to 64 years old. The 17-year-old was arrested this morning at Kathleen High School, where he is a student.
Still at large are William Perren II, 21, of Lakeland, who is charged with one count of promotion, and Darryl Dixon, 21, of Winter Haven, who is charged with 1 count of promotion and 10 counts possession.
"These men are disgusting, absolutely disgusting." said Judd. "This is absolutely repulsive."
