A teenage girl was found dead Sunday with her throat slashed in her Queens home, police sources said.Sabrina Matthews, 14, described as a smart but shy 9th grader, was lying in a pool of blood when police arrived at her Cambria Heights home about 1:15 p.m., authorities said. New York City paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

The girl's father, Livingston Matthews, who made the 911 call, was being questioned last night at the 105th Precinct. No one had been charged in the slaying late Sunday.Livingston Matthews works as a driver for the Administration for Children's Services in New York City.

Sabrina's death shocked the tree-lined residential block of 234th Street where she lived with her parents and a sister in a one-story house with brick siding.

"I'm still in disbelief," said Tamoia Williams, 25, a family friend who said she learned of the incident through a phone call from Sabrina's mother, Shanida Matthews. "Come! Come!," Shanida Matthews told Williams, she recalled. "They've killed my daughter!"

The city medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, though sources said it was clear the girl's throat was cut. Though she was partially clothed, police would not say if there was evidence of sexual abuse.

Police had visited the house at least three times in the past for domestic incidents, though they would not give details about those cases. Police sources said one of the incidents involved suspected child abuse.

The city's Administration for Children's Services was not involved with the girl, police said

Neighbors said they could not recall any commotion at Sabrina's home nor visits from police.

Neighbors and family said Sabrina was a 9th grader at Martin Van Buren High School in Queens Village. Her intelligence was impressive enough to earn her a nickname: "Brains."

Yet she also struck many as shy.

"I never saw her with company," said her aunt, Delores Kelly. "She always went away by herself. She was always alone."

Neighbor Neville Griffiths recalled that Sabrina attended his 68th birthday party recently. "She was beautiful, loving and kind."

Staff writers Michael Amon and Rocco Parascandolo contributed to this story.

My two cents-

Besides the obvious .. there's something very unsettleing in the pit of my stomach with this story.. perhaps because her father works for child services.. but something is very very wrong here I feel it!

I'll have to follow it and see where it leads...

I wasn't going to post the comment above.. because of the obvious.

However, I decided to post it with a reply.

First of all..I didn't accuse anyone of anything.

Second, if you are able to read my mind then you are much better of a person than I am..

Please do tell what you think I'm thinking??

Somehow, I think your way off the mark here and you have NO CLUE what thoughts passed through my mind...

Have a wonderful day.
