Woman Attempts to kill estranged husband with butcher knife in Macedon

The Town of Macedon Police Department reported the arrest on Friday night of Pamela C. Rogers, age 28, of 40 Church Street, Lancaster, NY, on charges of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child following a Domestic Incident with her estranged husband, in the Town of Macedon.

Police reported that Pamela Rogers had traveled from Lancaster to Macedon to bring her four year old daughter to her father's residence, Robert Rogers, at 880 Route 31, for a normal weekend visitation. After transferring the child to the husband, Rogers noticed a strange vehicle parked in the driveway and became combative with the husband, believing it was the vehicle of another woman.

Rogers went to her vehicle and retrieved a 10” butcher knife and lunged at the husband who was holding the child in his arms, and attempted to stab Robert in the stomach. Robert was able to turn so as to not be stabbed and subsequently received lacerations to his stomach. Rogers then slashed at Robert multiple times and he received further defensive wounds to his right forearm and hand. Rogers dropped the knife when the victim was able to call 911 from a cell phone, and she fled the scene.

Macedon Police arrived and secured the knife used in the attack and Robert was treated by the Macedon Town Ambulance. Robert was transported to FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua for multiple lacerations, treated and released.

Macedon Police Sergeant John P. Colella stated that due to the quick work of responding patrol officers, they were able to put out a teletype to police agencies in the surrounding region and Rogers was located and arrested without incident by the Lancaster Police Department.

Rogers was transferred back to Macedon and she was arraigned in Macedon Court for the above listed charges. Rogers was remanded to the custody of the Wayne County Jail on $50,000 cash bail/$100,000 bond. Rogers is due back in Macedon Town Court on April 8th.

Colella stated that the case is being reviewed by the Wayne County District Attorney's Office, and that the charges could potentially be upgraded based upon the actions and comments Rogers made during the attack.
