Nixzmary Brown's Mother Faces Murder, Manslaughter Charges
Nixzaliz Santiago, the mother of Nixzmary Brown, appeared in Brooklyn Supreme for a pre-trail hearing Thursday.
Lawyers for both sides compared evidence in the case against Santiago. The fairly standard procedure saw two charges dropped against Santiago regarding her alleged abuse of another one of her children.
She still faces many other charges, including second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter of her seven-year-old daughter in 2006.
No court date has been set.
Santiago's husband Cesar Rodriguez was sentenced last month to 25 years in prison after being convicted for his role in Brown's death.
