For the last seven or eight years, Lincoln authorities say 57-year-old Sanford Kaplan bound and blindfolded teenage boys at his Lincoln home for sexual gratification. And in recent court documents, Kaplan admits to doing it.

Six boys ranging in age from 13 to 15 tell police Kaplan invited them to his Lincoln home. Once there, he tied them up using tape, rope, and even chains. They say Kaplan blindfolded and suspended them from the rafters of his garage.

One victim, identified only as "J.K." says on April 12th, Kaplan made him dress in blue jeans, a jean jacket, hip waders and rubber gloves. He left him hanging from the rafters for 30 minutes while videotaping everything.

During police interviews, Kaplan admitted restraining the boy - knowing he may have injured him. Another victim, known as "M.H." says in 2001 and 2002 Kaplan bound and gagged him, and left him hanging from the rafters while taking pictures.

This same victim says one time while suspended in the air, he heard a zipper noise, and then heard Kaplan breathing heavily, and he became very fearful. He also said Kaplan tied him up three or four times before that.

Police say Kaplan admitted doing these things to several teenage boys in order to "fulfill a sexual need."

Up until Wednesday, Kaplan was employed as a soccer coach at Lincoln Northeast high school and a professor at the University of Nebraska Lincoln.

Kaplan was released on bond on Wednesday afternoon, and has been charged with six counts of child abuse and one count of false imprisonment. He is set to return to court on July 2nd for a preliminary hearing.

His former wife was found hanging. It was deemed a suicide. Now it's being looked at again.
